MC Online 2013 Product Showcase

Marshall Cavendish Online (MC Online) recently held its 2013 Product Showcase at Megu Event Hall (Singapore Flyer) on October 4th 2012. The theme of the event, “We Lead the Change” illustrated MC Online’s precedence in gearing today’s young learners for tomorrow’s challenges.

The event epitomized 21st century learning at its best, featuring MC Online’s latest LMS additions and exclusive contents which aim to enable collaborative learning beyond classrooms and empower independent learners.

Attended by 90 teachers from 54 primary and secondary schools, the event commenced with an opening address from MC Online’s Assistant General Manager, Mr Ng Gek Song.

This was followed by an exciting dialogue session in which 3 schools shared their experiences of successfully implementing Infocomm Technology (ICT) in classroom teaching.

The first speaker, Mdm Lalitha Kasi Pandiyan from West View Primary School, explained how tablets helped to facilitate self-directed, collaborative and mobile learning amongst her students through the use of digital textbooks and online applications.

Representing Yusof Ishak Secondary School were Mrs Tan Yi Lin and Mr Thou Reaksmey who shared their experiences on infusing tablet technology into lessons and assignments for a more meaningful and engaging teaching and learning experience.

Mr Paul Tan, the HOD ICT of Nanyang Girls’ High School followed with an insightful presentation of how 1-to-1 computing enabled the creation of an ‘agile space’ that transcended learning beyond 4 walls, creating new horizons for learning.

Mr Jasmond Ng, the Assistant General Manager, Sales and Marketing of MC Online concluded the session with a lively presentation showcasing MC Online’s new LMS features and contents. Attendees were treated to an exclusive overview of Social Learning Wall, Encyclopaedia Britannica Online School Edition and MindMeister amongst other exciting products.

The enthusiastic participants were even given the opportunity to try out the products themselves at the product demonstration booths.
